McAfee offers a 30 day free trial for its products. Once your free trial has expired and you still want to continue using McAfee's VirusScan Plus, you will need to get a subscription for it.
What I Like
Aside from just an antivirus program, McAfee is also bundled with a firewall which helps protect your PC from hackers and online attacks. It constantly monitors your inbound and outbound data when you are online and can stop hackers, identity thieves, malware programs from hijacking your system and stealing important information.
One of the most important new features that came with the latest version of McAfee is its instant update feature. With this feature, it will identify, update and block the latest threats before they can even happen.
What I Don't Like
While McAfee does include a lot of add-ons, this may not be so useful for people who are simply looking for a simple antivirus program. More components may also mean more usage in your system's memory which might slow it down.
Do I Recommend It?
Yes. McAfee is one of the best pioneers in antivirus software and it proves just that with each new and more improved release of their antivirus and security softwares. If you haven't tried using McAfee before, I recommend giving their 30-day free trial a go.
